The NBA Finals is the annual championship series of the National Basketball Association. The Eastern and Western conference champions play a best-of-seven game series to determine the league champion.
This year the Boston Celtics will face Golden State Warriors in the series starting Friday 3rd June 2022 and if it gets to game seven possibly ending on 20th June 2022, that’s a big if. Both Teams are yet to be seriously tested playing opponents who have been dealing with big injuries so will be an interesting contest.
Celtics:
The Celtics have faced 3 seriously flawed offenses so far that relied way too heavily on 1 star player. And even then they had difficulty stopping them at times, been pushed all the way to a game 7 decider. But that said many a fan would say Celtics had the hardest road to the finals possible this playoffs. Nets followed by two other great defensive teams. Maybe teams play worse on offense when playing arguably the best defensive team in the league, and the Celtics have always played well against the warriors, also its now been said their team is better than ever?
Warriors:
GSW cruised to a 4-1 play-off victory, they have been great defensively like there opponents, but the Warriors are looking stronger in the offence. The main thing for GSW is after there easy passage to the final there well rested and have had chance to nurse any injured plays which the Celts haven’t.
Key Players:
Jayson Tatum (Celtics) Forward
Tatum is only 24 but is a well established NBA player already. Early season some questions whether a Tatum-led Celtics team can compete for a title, but they have now been answered,
Stephen Curry (GSW) Guard
Curry heads into the 2022 NBA Finals fresh off winning the first ever Western Conference Finals MVP award. He averaged nearly 24 points to go with 6.6 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 44% from distance.
Jaylen Brown (Celtics) Guard
Boston will need more consistency from Brown if it is going to win the NBA title. But his definitely a top player.
Draymond Green (GSW) Forward
How important was Green to the Warriors’ run to the 2022 NBA Finals? The answer is very and if there to go on to win they will need him at his best.
