Stanley Cup Tips
The NHL action comes thick and fast throughout the regular season with each team playing 82 games, totalling 1,271 total regular-season games. We at Degen bring the best picks from the almost daily action.
Our Picks:
Edmonton Oilers ML @4/5 vs Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas won the opening game of the series 6-4, very strong performance by them. Oilers looked a little taken back by the aggressive forecheck compared to the Kings which led to a lot of turnovers.
Stuart Skinner is expected to start for the Oilers, he was ok in game #1, probably would like to have goal #4 & 5 back but a lot of clean chances and tips in front. Laurent Brossoit will start for Vegas, good playoffs so far. The second goal he allowed wasn’t good, but was fairly solid. Neither goalie is likely to steal the game. Both will let a few in, no advantage really for either team.
Edmonton’s power play was once again dominant in game #1 going 2/3. Vegas went 1/3 on the power play as well. Edmonton will likely have a few power play opportunities that they need to capitalize on. We expect the Oilers to play a tighter game today. The Oilers need some depth scoring in this game like they had against the Kings, they can’t just rely on McDavid and Draisaitl. Not wanting to go down 2-0 in the series, the Oilers will hopefully be able to control the game at 5 on 5 which was one of their strengths this season. Edmonton was a good road team this season and has faced being down in the playoffs already this year. Prediction: 4-3 final.
